6th to 12th July is Net Zero Week. The biggest Net Zero Conference and the UK's Official National Awareness Week. We asked our fast growing Net Zero ecosystem of SME's and Supply Chain owners to publish their views on Net Zero and here's what they had to say.
The role of SMEs on Net Zero and why 94% of consumers think it matters
With over 6 million small businesses in the UK, they contribute over £2 trillion to the UK economy, giving them a critical role in progressing its Net Zero transition. 94% of consumers say that proper verification of environmental claims is important to them and two-thirds surveyed said verification mattered because it demonstrates organisations aren’t just greenwashing, while 32% said verifying against best practice standards can provide a benchmark by which they can compare one business with another. Source, BSI Net Zero Barometer. By setting and sharing interim Net Zero milestones helps build consumer trust and credibility. This is one of the primary outcomes of the Net Zero and Rolling Accelerator programs.
View of the Net Zero Nation pilot cohort
First, let's hear from two of the Pilot cohort companies who started with us back in 2021. Ailsa Reliability Solutions and Booth Welsh. They have inspired a great number of companies to start their Net Zero journey since then and are now leading a cohort in North Ayrshire supported by North Ayrshire Council.

Sincere thanks to Forth Ports who are hosting the Supply Chain Net Zero Accelerators at their Grangemouth and Rosyth facilities. Two cohorts live now and a third is just about to begin shortly.
We are grateful for the support of Net Zero International and notch who are instrumental in helping deliver the Net Zero Accelerator programs. Thank you!
