Best wishes to the Scotland team and supporters who have travelled to Munich for the Euro 2024 opening clash between Germany and Scotland this week.
Ahead of the first game in the Euros 2024 Germany vs Scotland, it seemed appropriate to announce our own very modest contribution to the game. By being the Eglinton sleeve sponsor for the 2024/2025 season, a local Ayrshire football team. The Scotland manager Steve Clarke is also from Ayrshire and had a successful spell as Kilmarnock manager before taking on the role of Scotland Head coach.
Leaders Inspire Change
Scotland Manager Steve Clark is a change maker. He changed the fortunes of Ayrshire club, Kilmarnock and the National side.
When he took over Kilmarnock in Oct 2017 the club sat bottom of the league table. His first game as Kilmarnock manager, which was his first involvement at a Scottish club match for 30 years, ended in a 1–1 draw at Rangers. Three days later, Clarke's side travelled to reigning champions Celtic and once again gained a 1–1 draw.
Kilmarnock finished the season in fifth place, setting a new club record points tally of 59 in the process. Clarke was named the SFWA Manager of the Year for 2017–18.
Clarke continued to impress the next season, achieving a third-place finish and European qualification for Kilmarnock. He also won both manager of the year awards, from PFA Scotland and the SFWA. Immediately after the league season ended, Clarke left Kilmarnock to take the national team manager position. He qualified for the Euro 2024's with two games to go which is another significant achievement. Whatever happens in the Euros, Clarke has proved he has the capacity to inspire change wherever he goes.
An opportunity to support Ayrshire based Eglinton FC
So getting to the point. It's no secret that over the last three years, the Ayrshire community has been a real early adopter for tangible Net Zero progress. Two of the founding companies in the Net Zero Accelerator Pilot cohort , Ailsa Reliability Solutions and Booth Welsh are both based there. They are now in Year 3 of the program. In fact they are now actually leading a cohort of 15 local companies on a Net Zero Accelerator, providing help, support and inspiration to those local companies. Companies on the Net Zero journey need confidence to act and transform their business. They take that inspiration from leaders and change makers like Ailsa Reliability Solutions and Booth Welsh.

Sponsoring Eglinton FC
When we were invited to be a sponsor of local Ayrshire team, Eglinton FC (The Jousters) by commercial director Jamie Burns, it seemed entirely appropriate and we were more than happy to support the club by being the sleeve sponsor for the 2024/2025 season.
With that, Good luck to everyone involved in the Euros and the 2024/2025 season ahead!
